Dusting off this old blog to update you on our May adventures! Turns out writing a monthly update takes more time than an instagram post.
The outdoor activities abound. Our deck is an array of pastel smudges and I battle daily to keep the sand in the sandbox, to no avail. Naps sometimes happen in the swing. And one of our favorite spots is Randy’s pizza, where we can sit on the patio, eat yummy pizza and listen to live music.
We realized with shock that we have been home, with no commitments, for multiple weekends this month. Thus, weekend warrior-ing. For those of you who have waded through the muck across our backyard, you’ll be happy to hear that the path is finally finished! We had a few very early mornings of tilling and placing stones, and Tom even had to cut a root with a chainsaw, but here it is! I am pretty thrilled with my elephant ear plant – sure my Pawpaw would be proud. Our garden has lots of tiny veggies, so here’s hoping we have a small harvest of some kind this year. And finally the bathroom transformation is my favorite. Out with the itty bitty vanities and yellow/brown walls, in with crisp white, tall vanities (with storage!) and waterfall faucets!
Painting, pigtails, picnics and more. Our sunroom is currently houses an impressive box fort from the bathroom vanity boxes. We attempted camping in our backyard for the first time – turns out the air mattress is far too similar to a trampoline and we made it to 10 pm.
Pool life.
Finally, my little strawberries picking strawberries. Did we eat strawberries while we were picking? No, of course not. The man who wrung up our bucket asked Talley Rae where she got her bloody lip, haha.
And there you have it.
I am enjoying this little social media break, reading lots of books and, as you can see, heading outside with my girls as often as possible.
